The world has known many people with the name Immanuel. Lots of Christians say because Jesus was called Immanuel he had to be God. This would mean that even today this god would be walking on this globe in many countries, because everywhere in the world you shall be able to find people who are called Immanuel or Emmanuel.
People with such name may be born in a family of believers in God, be it Jews, Christians or Muslims. With using the Hebrew name עִמָּנוּאֵל (‘Immanu’el) meaning “God is with us” or “God with us”, those parents probably wanted to show their gratitude to the Eternal Most Divine Almighty Creator God Who has blessed them with a child. Normally you should consider Immanuel to be a title and not as such a name.
Emmanuel meaning “God with us” brings us to look at the one born, Jeshua in this instance to be a bringer of closeness with the Most High. In this way for humankind Jesus was “God with us”, about whom many may sing glorious songs, shouting he is the “King of Kings”, “Almighty God”, “Wonderful Counselor”, etc. — all of which are titles, not names. We say “Mr. President”, “Mr. Speaker“, “Your Honor”, etc., but these are titles, not names, and as such Jeshua had as one of his titles “Immanuel”. Throughout the ages this title for Jesus and other biblical figures was also used as a name.
In Anglo-Saxon countries the name Immanuel or Emmanuel is not so much used, but is quite common in continental Europe, especially in Belgium, France (in the spellings Emmanuel, Emanuel, Manuel and Manu + for girls Manoe and Manou) , Spain and Portugal (in the spellings Manuel and Manoel). Americans so often refer to the proof that Jesus is God because he is called god and Immanuel. They do seem to forget that much more beings are called god and/or Immanuel.
I can assure you that though that I might be called Immanuel, I am not Jesus nor God or a god. I am way of being a god, but Jesus may have been a god and is still today for many a god, but that does not make him to be the Almighty God יהוה {Jehovah}. Also Jesus his name is far from what many call him today, because his name was Jeshua יֵשׁוּעַ (Yeshu’a). Yeshu’a is itself being a contracted form of Yehoshu’a or Joshua). Yeshua ben Yoseph, better known as Jesus Christ, was the central figure of the New Testament and the source of the Christian religion. The same as the many people being called Jesus, Jezus, יֵשׁוּ = Jesu or Yeshu, Chesu, or יֵשׁוּע or Yeshu’, they nor Jesus are יהוה = Jehovah or Yehowah/Yehovah (sometimes also spelled Yahuwah) the Only One Whose Holy or Set Apart Name is for the Hebrew God, represented in Hebrew by the tetragrammaton (“four letters”) יהוה (Yod Heh Vav Heh), which was transliterated into Roman script as Y H W H. Because it was considered blasphemous to utter the name of God, it was only written and never spoken, which resulted in the original pronunciation becoming lost. Today there are still many Jews who even do not write the titles of God fully and therefore write G’d. G’d His Name may have originally been derived from the old Semitic root הוה (hawah) meaning “to be” or “to become”. The One Who was and always has been “The I Am Who I am” is “The I Am Who Is‘ but has nothing human.
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֱלֹהִים֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה אֶֽהְיֶ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר אֶֽהְיֶ֑ה וַיֹּ֗אמֶר כֹּ֤ה תֹאמַר֙ לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֶֽהְיֶ֖ה שְׁלָחַ֥נִי אֲלֵיכֶֽם׃ Exodus 3:14
14 God said to Moshe:
EHYEH ASHER EHYEH/I will be-there howsoever I will be-there.
And he said:
Thus shall you say to the Children of Israel:
EHYEH/I-WILL-BE-THERE sends me to you.
Lots of Christians seem to forget that in their Bible or Holy Scriptures is also written that no man can see That “I am that which I am” without staying alive. Many saw Jesus and continued living, there even having been people who were already death and came to life again by Jesus calling them. This is in contradiction to the Bible saying in the Shemoth or Book Exodus
19 He said:
I myself will cause all my Goodliness to pass
in front of your face,
I will call out the name of YHWH
before your face:
that I show-favor to whom I show-favor,
that I show-mercy to whom I show-mercy.
20 But he said:
You cannot see my face,
for no human can see me and live!
John 1:18 No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has described him.1John 4:12 No one has seen God at any time; if we love* one another, God is abiding in us and his love* is perfected in us.
The majority of Christians also say that their god is born on the 25th of December. First of all God has never had a birth. The Elohim Hashem Jehovah is the Eternal Divine Creator who has never had a beginning or birth nor ever can die, having no ending. Jesus the Immanuel, many Christians celebrate his birth at Christmas (25 December) was born the 17th of October 4 BCE, and as such has a beginning. He also was tempted more than once, whilst the God of gods cannot be tempted.
James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted by God, for* God is not tempted by evils and he himself tempts no one.
Their Jesus, for which they take the prophet and master teacher, rabbi Jeshua, was also sentenced to death (according to the prophesies in the Torah) and after doing God’s Will (and not his own will, which he would have done when he is God) really died at the wooden stake after he himself had cried to God and had asked Him (Jehovah God) why He (God) had abandoned him (Jesus).
Deut. 21:22 Now when a man has sin-guilt, (resulting in) a sentence of death,
and is put-to-death,
and you hang him up on a wooden-stake,Acts 5:30 The God of our fathers lifted up Jesus, whom you* slew, hanging him on a tree.
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is, ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’ {Ps. 22:1} 47 And some of them were standing there, when they heard it, said, This man is summoning Elijah. 48 And immediately one out of them ran, taking a sponge and filled it with vinegar and placed it around a reed and gave it to him to drink. 49 And the rest said, Allow it, that we may see if Elijah comes to save him. 50 And Jesus having cried again with a loud voice, his spirit leaves. 51 And behold, the curtain of the temple was split apart into two pieces, from the top to the bottom, and the earth shook, and the rocks were split apart; 52 and the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the holy-ones who had fallen-asleep arose. 53 And coming forth out of the tombs after his awakening they entered into the holy city and appeared to many. 54 Now the centurion and those who were with him, guarding Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that happened, were extremely afraid, saying, This truly was the Son of God.
10 For* the death that he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life that he is living, he is living to God.
It is totally wrong to assume the one being called Immanuel to be an incarnation of the God of power Who
“did ride in His majestic robes of glory, resolved to light; and so one day He did descend, undressing all the way.”(George Herbert).
Christians should know that their celebration on the 24th and 25th of December, being called Christmas, has nothing to do with the birth of Jesus nor with the birth of God or with God having restrained His omnipotence within the frailty of human flesh. God never confined His omniscience, Him knowing everything, within the limitations of human thought, and never did He contain His omnipresence, being able to be everywhere at the same time, within the body of one human – Jesus of Nazareth.
God also never came to the earth to become a servant instead of One who is served. It might well be that Jesus was born to be a king, willing to be treated as a slave, because when Jesus is the Messiah then he shall be the King of kings here on earth to govern the Kingdom of his heavenly Father, but when he lived in the Middle East some two millennia ago he was an ordinary carpenter and an incredible story teller who was able to do incredible wonders or miracles.
Lots of people may try to humiliate God, but man should know that man can do nothing to God. He is the Ruler and the Omnipotent Supreme One and Only Creator and Governor of all the Universe.
All christians should also remember that it is the Most High Divine Creator Who, in the Garden of Eden made His first promise to send a solution against the curse of death. The Same God further promised to Abraham and his offspring that out of the lineage of King David would come that King of kings for a set apart or Holy Land.
In case Jesus is really the promised one from God, then he is the greatest gift mankind received with him because by god accepting his offering like a lamb, he whitewashed with his blood (something god does not have) our sins. can give to Jesus is a life lived above the common. His giving himself in the hands of his God, doing not his own will but that of his heavenly Father, he made man righteous again, in the eyes of the God of Abraham, so that all, by his death, might live.
The world has to know that the Divine Creator wants all people to unite and to recognise the Messiah, getting to be like him all of one mind, having compassion one of another. This oneness of mind does not demand the monotony of similarity, but unity in variety. We shall never be of one mind in the sense of all holding the same opinions; but we may be all of one mind when, beneath diversities of opinion, expression, and view, we are animated by a common devotion to Christ.
No man can have the mind of Christ who has not the courage to have the eyes of Christ. He rejected the traditions of men and saw things for himself. We too have to reject the human traditions and have to put our own selfish will away, like Jesus did. We too should be careful not to participate in pagan traditions, like Christmas and Easter.
Christians may anticipate the happy day when the whole world shall be converted to Christ; but then the gods of the heathen shall have to be cast to the moles and the bats;
when Romanism shall be exploded, and the crescent of Mohammed shall wane, never again to cast its baleful rays upon the nations; when kings shall bow down before the Prince of Peace, and all nations shall call their Redeemer blessed.
Some despair of this. They look upon the world as a vessel breaking up and going to pieces, never to float again. We know that the world and all that is therein is one day shall be confronted with an enormous battle (World War III or Armageddon). Before those end-times all lovers of God should know that it is time to unite and to remember the Divine call,
Psalm 50:5-6: 5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. 6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.
Real lovers of God have to worship only One True God and strive to be simple and sincere toward all, seeking not to please and honour the self, but the Most All-Mighty God of gods, doing away with everything that is not according to the Wishes of God.

Christians may say that Jesus is God incarnate, but real Christian and all lovers of God should not believe everything what man says, but what God says. And God says clearly that Jesus is His only begotten beloved son and never speaks about Him incarnating into something or some one.

Dear Mr. Snow thank you very much for your reply. I also appreciate it you are one of those Christians which are taking up the task rabbi Jeshua gave his followers, namely ‘preaching’ or telling others about the Good News.
I also looked at other article of your site and notice you area aware of the Immanuel prophecy, so I would think you would understand the Elohim providing a solution for mankind, not by coming Himself to this world but by providing a person who could proof to mankind that man is able be there for the One and Only divine Creator of all things and to proof man can follow or live according to His Will and commandments and to worship this only One True God.
At the texts looked at I no where could find proof in the quoted Bible texts that there would be a Trinity, though in the text-fragments I could see how God guided man and mentioned ways against the curse of death.
You managed to give very nice explanations but which were not confirming the biblical way of thinking.

At The Shepherds and the Shepherd King, for example, you fall in the trap of those publishers who left out the Name of God and always use “Lord”, even not with Big Capitals for God and smaller capitals for Jesus, so that readers cannot see the difference if there is been spoken about the Most High or about the son of the Most High.

From the house of the shepherd David, who became a king, the world got an other shepherd and king. Jesus is an offspring of David and as such also did not exist before he was born. Him to be God would also make a liar of God, because God tells us He does not tell lies, but He said Jesus is His only begotten son, and when Jesus would be God than He would have told a lie. He also said no man can see God and live, whilst many saw Jesus and continued to live. There where even people brought to life again by Christ Jesus. God also tells us man can do Him nothing, and that He is eternal. Eternality means God has no beginning = no birth, and no ending = cannot die. By calling Jesus the God of gods, people make of Him a fraud who did as if he was talking to the God of Abraham, whilst he was just talking to himself. What use would have been God faking that He died and was resurrected from the dead?

Most often when trinitarians want to proof that Jesus is God they confronted us with texts by a.o. John his opening to his Gospel, and by Jesus saying “I am”, and by the saying Jesus is Immanuel, that this means Jesus is God.
The happy cry we all may sing
does not at all proof that Jesus is God, but talks about the one we should look forward to. It also clearly indicate what so many Christians are missing “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given”. That child being born, i.e. having come onto the world, having come into being (only then when it was born) is a ‘son’ given to the world. It nowhere says that it would be “a god son given” or even that it would be “God given to us”. God has always be there for all who wanted to hear and love Him. God has been always there, before time He was already there. It was He Who gave Himself to the universe He created. It was or is also Him who gives His son to mankind, to break the curse of death and to bring peace in the universe.
